Everything for patients

Going to the dentist is often a traumatic event for patients. The combination of the feeling of discomfort because we don't know what awaits us, with the fear because we often associate the experience in the dentist's chair with pain, creates a stress that is difficult for us to deal with.

That's why it often happens that we forget most of the questions we wanted to ask at the first examination, which we remember when we leave the stress behind, i.e. when we get home.

There are frequently and less frequently asked questions, and we will try to answer them all here. We have divided them by types of therapies and problems to make it easier for you to find them and reduce the loss of time.

Questions about the first visit to the dentist?

How long do I have to wait to get the offer for your services?
We can create the offer after the first examination visit. Depending on the problem/diagnosis we are solving, the offer can be less or more complex. When the offer is finished, we invite you to your second visit when dr. Zimmermann will walk you through the offer in detail, explaining the possible approaches to your diagnosis, the services the offer contains and how much time will be needed in order to solve the problem and get the result you will be satisfied with.
Can I start with the therapy immediately?
You can start the therapy immediately, unless it includes more complex procedures that will require more time. In that case, we will schedule an appointment for you as soon as possible.
What do I need to have if I am interested in dental crowns and bridges?
If you are interested in prosthetic work, then you should definitely have a recent panoramic image. If you don't have it, you can make it in the practice we cooperate with.

Questions about dental implants

How will I know if I am a good candidate for dental implant placement?
The only way to know it is to make and analyse a 3D image of the jaw, in order to see the true state of the bone. A 3D image is made exclusively before each implant placement, in this way the right shape and size of the implant are chosen. After that, during consultation and mutual agreement, we suggest an optimal therapy plan.
Will I be able to train the day after?
Theoretically yes, but the best advice we can give is to give it a shot if you ‘re feeling ok. It is always better to be more careful when it comes to your own health.
Which type of dental implant will be placed?
A titanium implant that is biocompatible, that has been researched for many years by scientific studies and that proved to be the best for Dr. Zimmermann in his work. The name of the implant itself does not have too much significance because there are also "renowned" manufacturers of implants that do not have good systems.
Can I get a dental implant?
If you are a healthy person or a person with diseases that are under control of a doctor, you can undergo dental implant placement.
Will dental implant procedure be painful?
It won't, because it is done with local anaesthesia that is applied to the area we are working on.
Will I be able to eat normally after dental implant procedure?
After the anaesthesia wears off, you can eat normally. Pain due to swelling is possible, but it is easily resolved with antibiotic therapy.
Will my dental implant fall off?
It won't, if you follow the instructions we agree on. Statistically, the success rate of implant placement is 98.5%, and we can increase that percentage by ensuring that we place the implant with good preparation.
Will I be able to function normally the day after at work?
It depends on the complexity of the procedure. It is important to respect the healing process and sometimes be patient for a few days. In case of minor procedures, normal functioning is possible already the next day and in case of more extensive procedures such as raising the floor of the maxillary sinus or "sinus-lift" when placing of multiple implants is included, the possibility of complications in the form of swelling of the lower jaw is greater. In this case, you are covered with antibiotics and you take painkillers as needed.
